EDISON, N.J. (January 28, 2026) – The Delaware River Port Authority is executing an $800 million capital plan and Chief Engineer Mike Venuto shared details this morning at the Alliance for Action’s Inside Scoop meeting.
“Delaware River Port Authority is undertaking major projects and making crucial investments that maintain and strengthen South Jersey’s transportation network — from bridge access across the Delaware River to the PATCO line into Philadelphia,” NJ Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan said. “These projects create thousands of construction jobs, improve local economies, and provide reliable and resilient infrastructure for the region.”
DRPA’s 5-year capital program means over $800 million will be invested between now and 2030.
Current projects include painting and steel repairs at the Commodore Barry Bridge and Betsy Ross Bridge, Walt Whitman Bridge Tower Link Replacement, and PATCO Woodcrest Platform Replacement.
Venuto also outlined several upcoming investments, including PATCO Embankment Restoration, Ben Franklin Bridge Deck Resurfacing and Finger Joint Rehabilitation, a new Public Safety Training Facility, advancement of the Glassboro-Camden Line and more.
