Congratulations to Priya Jain, Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill’s nominee to serve as Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

Commissioner-designee Jain brings a unique and impressive career to this role. Her experience on major transportation and infrastructure projects, including Gateway, and her leadership in building effective project delivery teams will serve New Jersey well as we work to strengthen and modernize our transportation network.

New Jersey faces a number of critical transportation challenges in the years ahead. In addition to advancing the Gateway Program, we must continue investing in NJ TRANSIT, move forward with projects like the Glassboro-Camden Light Rail Line, and rebuild and modernize our roads and bridges. Strong transportation investment drives strong economic development.

This term will also require renewing the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund, an essential step to ensure long-term, sustainable funding for our infrastructure needs.
