June 18, 2024 – Tuesday morning, Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan was invited to the grand re-opening of the NJ TRANSIT Elizabeth Station. 

Keenan participated in the ribbon cutting alongside key leaders like NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin Corbett, NJDOT Acting Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chair Fran O’Connor, State Senator Joseph Cryan, Congressman Rob Menendez, FTA Administrator Michael Culotta, and Elizabeth Mayor J. Christian Bollwage.

NJ TRANSIT fully renovated Elizabeth Station which now includes additional platform capacity and access with upgraded elevators and additional staircases, new station buildings and a renovated public plaza. 

The $74.5 million reconstruction project will benefit commuters by increasing accessibility, reliability, and connectivity across the northeast corridor. 

“It was an honor to stand with transportation leaders and key officials this morning at the ribbon cutting of Elizabeth Station,” said President Keenan. “The investments being made here will greatly impact the growing community and improve the experience for commuters. The Alliance looks forward to continuing its work with NJ TRANSIT.”
