LINCROFT, NJ (July 24, 2026) – Monmouth County is a development powerhouse with over billion dollars in upcoming investments to utility systems, transportation infrastructure, environmental remediation, and facilities. This morning at NJ Alliance for Action’s Monmouth County Chapter Meeting guests heard from regional decision-makers on upcoming projects and construction opportunities.
“Monmouth County is constantly investing to improve lives and strengthen the region. The projects coming to this area mean more resilient infrastructure, local jobs and economic growth, and real environmental benefits,” said NJ Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan
Monmouth County Engineer Joe Ettore presented a complete overview of the county’s six year capital improvement program, which has already invested over $193 million in transportation and facilities projects over the past three and a half years. He also detailed over $200 million in upcoming bridge, road, and facilities projects.
NJ American Water Director of Engineering, Project Delivery Patrick Westhoven said the utility is investing heavily in lead service line replacement and PFAS treatment. Upcoming projects in Monmouth County include the $260 million Jumping Brook Water Treatment Plant PFAS, the $120 million Swimming River Water Treatment Plant PFAS, and $75 million in coastal lead service replacements throughout the county.
NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Director, Division of Resilience Engineering and Construction Dennis Reinknecht and Division of Environmental Services’ Vincent Rotunda shared details on upcoming coastal resiliency projects and activity in both the bay shore and coastal shore. NJDEP resiliency projects are currently more than $1.3 billion statewide.
JCP&L Regional External Affairs Consultant Jose Ortiz gave details on new projects and initiatives coming to the region including several coastal resiliency efforts and the Energize NJ program.
Veolia Water New Jersey Manager of Engineering Michelle Dong said that in 2026-2027 Veolia plans to invest $4 million in water main projects and $2 million in water tank rehabilitation. Upcoming investments also include the $30 million Matchaponix PFAS Facility Upgrade and the $20 million Manalapan Water Treatment Plant.
