MONROE, NJ (March 12, 2025) – PSE&G’s Senior Vice President of Gas Operations Brian Clark and Vice President of Gas Construction Michael Gaffney joined NJ Alliance for Action this morning to detail PSE&G’s Gas System Modernization Program (GSMP) and upcoming gas infrastructure improvements.

“Natural gas is a vital part of powering the places and systems we rely on daily, that means natural gas infrastructure can’t afford to fail,” said NJ Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan. “New Jersey’s utility industry is our best corporate neighbor. New Jersey needs these improvements to ensure reliable, safe, and absolutely necessary power.”

Clark and Gaffney outlined several benefits of upcoming work including reduction of open leaks through more efficient and proactive infrastructure, economic growth through the creation of thousands of jobs, and environmental protection through reduced methane emissions, improved regional air quality and readiness to deliver lower carbon fuels. Continued GSMP work is projected to replace an additional 525 miles of cast iron and unprotected steel main in over 70 municipalities by 2029.
