February 18, 2026 – Gateway Development Commission (GDC) has received the full $205 million court ordered reimbursement of available federal funds to continue work on the Hudson Tunnel Project. Work is anticipated to resume on the project next week.

NJ Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan celebrated the good news as work is set resume on the most important infrastructure project in the country.

“We’ve just received the news we have been waiting for: The federal government has released contractually agreed-upon funds, and we anticipate work on the Hudson Tunnel Project will resume next week.

Today is a win for the skilled trades workers, engineers, contractors and suppliers who are delivering one of the most important infrastructure projects in the country. These are careers that support families, strengthen local businesses and drive economic growth on both sides of the Hudson River.

The Hudson Tunnel Project is about reliability, safety and keeping the Northeast Corridor moving. Resuming construction puts us back on track and restores momentum to a project that is critical to our region and the nation.
