Good news for the Hudson Tunnel Project.

The federal government has dropped its appeal seeking to overturn a court ruling protecting federal funding for the project.

That’s important news for every resident, business and traveler in New Jersey.

The Hudson Tunnel Project is one of the largest and most important infrastructure investments underway in the nation. It’ll build a new two-tube rail tunnel under the Hudson River and rehabilitate the existing North River Tunnel, which has been in service since 1910.

“This is a major step forward for a project that’s critical to New Jersey’s economy and our entire transportation system,” said Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan. “The Hudson Tunnel Project means thousands of jobs, billions of dollars in construction and a more reliable rail system. Now we need to keep building.”

And Alliance for Action members will have an opportunity to hear directly from the person leading the project when Gateway Development Commission CEO Tom Prendergast speaks at the Alliance for Action’s 24th Annual NJ Statewide Transportation Conference on October 1 at Forsgate Country Club.

Come hear the latest on the Hudson Tunnel Project, what’s ahead and the opportunities it’s creating for New Jersey’s construction industry.
