New Jersey’s Board of Public Utilities has approved the third phase of PSE&G’s Gas System Modernization Program (GSMP), which supports the continued modernization of its existing and aging gas distribution system. PSE&G has the largest number of aging cast iron pipes in the country, some of which are over 70 years old. This program will allow for improvements in reliability and safety for New Jersey customers, and continue to reduce methane emissions, today and into the future.
These infrastructure improvements not only enhance customer safety and reliability, reduce greenhouse gas emissions leaks, but also contribute to New Jersey’s economy by sustaining hundreds of union and non‑union jobs. All while maintaining the lowest gas rates in the state.
We invite you to come learn firsthand about the upcoming phase of gas infrastructure improvements.
