The Gateway Development Commission is at a pivotal moment for building the most important infrastructure project in the nation. The boring of the Hudson Tunnel Project is about to start, and major construction is in full swing in North Bergen, Weehawken, Manhattan, and even in the Hudson River itself.
GDC will soon be awarding its next capital contract for the New Jersey Surface Alignment Project. This package will build more than 7,500 feet of above-ground trackway to support the new tunnel’s connection to the existing Northeast Corridor tracks in New Jersey. Construction will include building new bridges, a viaduct, permanent access routes, and more.
