EDISON, NJ (March 5, 2026) – Williams Director of Community & Public Outreach Mike Atchie shared details on over $1 billion in major projects, including the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project (NESE), this morning at the NJ Alliance’s Inside Scoop meeting.
“Natural gas plays a vital role in meeting our region’s power needs and the Northeast Supply Enhancement Project will help shorten the growing gap between supply and demand,” NJ Alliance President Jerry Keenan said. “This project will increase reliability and access for New Jersey while boosting the economy through the creation of thousands of jobs.”
Atchie said NESE will expand the existing Transco natural gas pipeline system through New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The project is estimated to drive over $500 million in economic activity and stimulate over $200 million in wages and benefits, all while potentially reducing CO2 emissions by over 13,000 tons annually.
Key opportunities in NJ are:
- The Madison Loop in Old Bridge and Sayreville
- The Raritan Bay Loop in Old Bridge, Sayreville, and Monmouth County
- New compressor station construction in Franklin Township
The presentation also included details on other opportunities with Williams around the country.That was followed by the opportunity to speak with Atchie directly to exchange contacts and discuss upcoming work.
