Edison, NJ (May 9, 2025) – Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) Chief Engineer Rizwan Baig and Chief of Major Capital Projects Steven Plate drew in a crowd of over 300 this morning at the NJ Alliance for Action’s PANYNJ: Meet the Team, hosted in partnership with the Professional Women in Construction of New Jersey. The Port Authority laid out key highlights of the implementation of its 2025 $3.6 billion capital plan.
“The Port Authority is investing billions and working tirelessly and expertly to keep the region moving. And it’s moving more efficiently and reliably than ever,” said New Jersey Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan. “Its capital plan is putting the construction industry to work and so we’re honored to have Rizwan Baig and Steve Plate here today to showcase these opportunities in front of our members.”
Both Baig and Plate discussed major projects, including the 25-day revamp of the Hoboken PATH station, which is part of the ongoing $430 million PATH FORWARD project.
They also gave insight on the five-year capital plan and future investments at the PANYNJ, including:
- The new Port Authority Bus Terminal
- An upcoming RFP for design of the new Terminal B at Newark Airport.
- Upcoming decisions on the new Port Authority Vision Plan.
Baig also announced that the revamp of runway 4L-22R at Newark airport will be completed ahead of the planned June 15 schedule.
