EDISON, NJ (March 18, 2025) – New Jersey Alliance for Action’s Middlesex County Chapter presented details today on over $3 billion in upcoming projects for the region.
“Middlesex County’s dynamic growth points to a unique and long partnership between government, academia, labor and the private sector. In the projects outlined today, we see that their innovation and tech leadership is going to continue for a long time to come,” Alliance Senior Vice President Chris Hartman said.
Guests heard from several public and private industry leaders on upcoming investment and opportunities.

- Gregory Sorensen, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Middlesex Water Company
Middlesex County outlined its capital construction project plans, which includes key new buildings on the campus of Middlesex College, notably a new student life center and sports facility. There will also be a new innovation magnet high school on the Middlesex College campus.
New Brunswick Development Corporation shared details on several projects, namely the Morris Cancer Center, the New Jersey Innovation Hub, Nokia Bell Labs’ new home and a third building for mixed use development. They are all part of the HELIX complex which will create thousands of jobs, draw in new residents, and stimulate the economy.
NJ TRANSIT announced a major renovation to the New Brunswick station, the start of the DELCO Lead Yard rail resiliency project, and plans for a new North Brunswick station. The presentation also listed major design opportunities, as well as construction projects statewide over the next two years.
JCP&L’s Energize NJ program will have a major impact on Middlesex County in terms of grid resiliency and reliability.
Middlesex Water Company gave major infrastructure updates on water mains and treatment plants for the 200,000 people they serve in the county.
