PARAMUS, NJ (March 7, 2025) – An infrastructure boom is sweeping across Bergen County, with over half a billion dollars of private and public works projects coming to New Jersey’s most populous county. Guests at The Bergen County Chapter meeting Friday morning were first to hear all the details on upcoming projects.
“Bergen County is investing in the infrastructure that will create resiliency and reliability for generations, all while stimulating the local economy,” said New Jersey Alliance For Action President Jerry Keenan. “These projects we heard about today will transform the lives of residents, workers, visitors and businesses across the region.”
The meeting started with remarks from the event’s co-chairs:

- Hon. Thomas Sullivan, President, Bergen County Building Trades and Bergen County Commissioner
Tedesco kicked off the meeting’s presentations and said Bergen expects to invest about $338 million in housing and infrastructure improvements, largely to Route 17.
Jim Kirkos, CEO of Greater Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce & CVB, detailed preparations for the FIFA World Cup and addressed the Meadowlands Convention Center project, estimated to have a $30 billion regional impact over the next several decades.
Taylor Carden, Superintendent of Production and Network Modeling at Veolia North America, said Veolia will invest $150 million into New Jersey Infrastructure in 2025 with $83 million in Bergen County over the next several years — primarily in main & valve replacement, water supply treatment & pumping improvements, and wastewater collection & treatment upgrades. In 2025, Veolia also anticipates 24 projects in northern New Jersey with 17 in Bergen County.
Director of E-Mobility at Rockland Electric Company, Andrew Farrell, said his company plans to invest over $75 million in New Jersey over the next 5 years to harden distribution reliability. More than two-thirds of that investment, $53 million, will be dedicated to underground infrastructure.
