Monroe, NJ (December 3, 2024) – Leaders from nine of New Jersey’s largest utility companies today detailed billions of dollars worth of upcoming construction – capital investments creating jobs and powering New Jersey’s economy.
The Alliance for Action’s “Energizing the Economy” event provided first-hand details from key industry leaders.
PSE&G President and COO Kim Hanemann said PSE&G will spend up to $21 billion over the next five years on electric distribution, clean energy, equipment and infrastructure upgrades.
JCP&L President Doug Mokoid detailed the planned Clean Energy Corridor, a $740 million project connecting offshore wind energy to New Jersey’s electric grid.
New Jersey American Water President Mark McDonough outlined more than $3.3 billion worth of lead service line replacements and PFAS improvements over the next five years.
Atlantic City Electric President Phil Vavala said his crews are developing on-land infrastructure to support offshore wind.
New Jersey Natural Gas Senior Vice President and COO Patrick Miglaccio detailed hundreds of millions of dollars in upcoming energy efficiency upgrades and said NJNG plans to invest up to $1.7 billion in its new capital plan.
South Jersey Industries Vice President Nick DiRocco spoke about $500 million in infrastructure upgrades, replacements and renewable energy projects set to move forward in South Jersey Gas and Elizabethtown Gas coverage territories.
Veolia Vice President and General Manager Alan Weland detailed nearly $1 billion in upcoming main and valve upgrades, lead service line replacements, pumping improvements, wastewater collection and other upgrades.
Orange & Rockland Utilities Vice President of Operations Won Choe spoke about more than $100 million in upcoming energy efficiency investments.
Enbridge Manager of Stakeholder Relations Max Bergeron said his company is a partner in the $750 million MACH 2 hydrogen energy hub.
New Jersey Board of Public Utilities Commissioner Marian Abdou provided the keynote address.
“The projects our speakers detailed today will provide safer, cleaner and more efficient utilities to millions of people across New Jersey,” said New Jersey Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan. “At the same time, these initiatives will create thousands of jobs and spur our economy. Today’s message is clear. The utility industry is New Jersey’s best corporate neighbor.”
