Toms River, NJ (October 21, 2024) – Ocean County is planning for one million residents by 2050, as predicted by Commissioner Frank Sadeghi at the Ocean County Chapter Meeting. They have already vaulted to fifth place among the 21 counties.
To meet those needs, attendees heard from government, utility, and offshore wind construction leaders on upcoming work, including immediate and near-term construction plans.
Ocean County has obtained millions of construction dollars for these upcoming projects:
Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind, Business Development and Strategic Partnerships Manager, Doug Copeland explained how Atlantic Shores is positioned to deliver the first offshore wind power project by 2028.
Bob Brice, Area External Affairs Representative at JCP&L shares how they will provide transmission capabilities on shore for that power.
Assistant Director of Coastal Engineering Erick Doyle explains how the NJ Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Resilience Engineering and Construction is already hard at work on resiliency projects for the shoreline.
Sangaran Vijayakumar, Project Manager for Ocean County of NJ Department of Transportation is increasing capacity on the fast-growing Route 9 corridor.
Ocean County government continues to improve its roads and bridges, as well as make big strides in the development of its Justice Complex Annex.
