Atlantic City, NJ – The Atlantic City Council and Egg Harbor Township Committee have passed resolutions important to the future construction of Atlantic Shores’ first offshore wind project in New Jersey.

Their actions will enable important cabling activities that will bring the power from the wind farms to our shores and ultimately into the state’s power grid.

The Alliance for Action provided supportive statements to the Atlantic City and Egg Harbor Twp. meetings.

According to the Atlantic City Press: “After taking public comment for more than two hours, council voted to approve diverting 1.8 acres of Green Acres parkland in the city to allow Atlantic Shores to run electric cables from their offshore wind farm to electric grid under that parkland.”

They also reported: “The Egg Harbor Township Committee voted unanimously to include two parcels of land owned by Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind to the Cardiff redevelopment area, paving the way for the company to build a substation for its offshore wind farm on four acres along Hingston Avenue.”
